How This Genealogy Was Made Possible:

Though people often think of JewishGen and LitvakSIG as “free” websites, it requires funding and effort for these sites to run.  Many of the documents that LitvakSIG andJewishGEN now make available online were first obtained and translated into English by members of LitvakSIG who speak and read Lithuanian and Russian, and at great expense traveled overseas to obtain these records, visit cemeteries, museums and archives, talk to curators and archivists and then translate Lithuanian or Russian documents into modern Hebrew and Yiddish names and English documents, which are then made available to us. This is slow and painstaking work that needs time and funding to occur. Please support these organizations.

People who worked at cemeteries (such as in Buenos Aires, in Expedit PA, and more) were more than willing to take photos and send them to me – for a fee. Documents were available from the census and other US archives. JewishGen was also indispensable. With an account on JewishGen as a “researcher,” family members long lost to us are able to contact each other and reconnect.  Vital records departments in cities across the United States make copies of death records available – for a fee.

Ancestry.com has provided additional vital information including, unbelievably, the birth records of ancestors in pre-Nazi Germany.

Please continue! Thank you.
